Listen to Mums

Every mother deserves to be heard.

Listen to Mums is an independent UK campaign founded to improve pregnancy assessment through evidence, research and lived experience. Inspired by my own experience of stillbirth and the different care I received in later pregnancies, this campaign asks an important question: should every pregnant woman have the same opportunity to have her concerns heard and assessed appropriately? We work to encourage evidence-informed improvements to maternity care, support research, and provide a platform for families to share their experiences so that future policy can continue to evolve through learning and compassion.

Why Listen to Mums Exists

Born from loss. Driven by hope. Guided by evidence.

Listen to Mums was founded by Klaudia Cierpial after the stillbirth of her daughter, Maya, at 28 weeks in 2020. During later pregnancies, enhanced monitoring and responsive care showed how differently maternity services can support women with previous pregnancy loss. Those experiences inspired an important question: should every pregnant woman have the same opportunity to have her concerns listened to and assessed appropriately? Listen to Mums was created to encourage evidence-informed improvements to maternity care while providing a platform for families to share their experiences.

Our campaign is built on a simple belief: every pregnant woman deserves to feel heard when something doesn’t feel right. By bringing together lived experience, research and evidence, we hope to contribute to ongoing improvements in maternity care and support conversations that help protect future families.
