Learning From Families
Families affected by pregnancy loss have valuable lived experience that should help inform research, policy development and improvements in maternity care.
Every report of reduced fetal movements, persistent pain, bleeding or maternal concern should be recognised as important clinical information and assessed appropriately.
We support evidence-based assessment pathways that help ensure pregnant women receive consistent care regardless of where they access NHS maternity services.
We support ongoing research into fetal monitoring, placental function, umbilical cord abnormalities, fetal growth restriction and other areas that may improve pregnancy assessment.
What we are asking for
Listen to Mums is calling for the UK Government, NHS England, NHS Scotland and other maternity leaders to review how maternal concerns are incorporated into pregnancy assessment. We support ongoing research into later pregnancy ultrasound provision, fetal monitoring and assessment pathways to ensure women receive timely, evidence-based care when concerns arise. We also believe the experiences of families affected by pregnancy loss should continue to inform future improvements in maternity services.
Your voice strengthens our call for systemic change. Join us in advocating for every mother.
